Taghazout runs along one road following the Atlantic. At that scale, "where to stay" is not a question of neighbourhoods but of three places that do not give you the same week.
The top of the village, on Hash Point
This is where the seafront houses are. You step out, cross the road, and you are in the water. Hash Point is the wave you see from the window, and it is a point break over rock: sheltered, so often too small, and busy the moment it works because everybody can walk to it.
For whom: an intermediate or better, who wants a session before breakfast without depending on a van.
The middle of the village
A few streets, cafés, hire shops, people about until late. Five minutes on foot from the beach rather than on it, and the compromise that suits the most people.
For whom: somebody travelling alone. The density of the village is what makes the evenings, and it is the main argument against Tamraght on a solo trip.
Tamraght, five minutes south
Quieter, more residential, and above all on sand: Banana Beach and Devil's Rock are walkable. This is where most first weeks happen.
For whom: a beginner, a family, a couple. The evenings are short, which is restful or long depending on what you came for.
You are not choosing a village, you are choosing a sea bottom. Rock to the north, sand to the south, and five minutes between them.

Three questions before booking
- Is the room sold on its own or only with a package? Some houses take no room-only booking at all.
- Are the evening meals shared, and at what time? That is what separates a communal camp from a guesthouse, and both are sold with the same word.
- Is the transfer from Agadir included? 45 minutes, and around 20 € each way when it is not.

Can I sleep in Tamraght and surf in Taghazout?
That is what most camps do, in both directions, on a five-minute shuttle.
Do I need to be on the seafront?
Only if you surf Hash Point early. Otherwise you are paying for a view of a wave you will not go and ride.
And Imsouane?
That is a third option, an hour and a half north: a trip of its own, not a nearby alternative.
