Playa Hermosa is twenty minutes south of the town over a hill, a long sand beach breaking left and right on a south-south-westerly swell with a north-easterly offshore.
It returns the same July figure as the town beach and as Playa Colorado up the coast: twenty-seven clean days out of thirty. Three beaches, one wind, one number, and the useful reading is that the choice between them is not about conditions.
It is about room. This one is longer and emptier, which is why a school moves here when the town beach fills, and why an intermediate finds a peak to themselves more often. Rips are named here too, and they are stronger where the beach is emptier, which is the honest half of the trade.
