Seven nights is the format everybody sells, and it is the right one: five leaves two days settling in and three surfing. What follows is not a camp programme, it is the run of decisions in the order they arrive.
Before you leave: three things that take ten minutes
The flight lands in Agadir, 45 minutes from the village. It is the only relevant airport: Marrakesh is three hours away and only makes sense if you are extending the trip.
The transfer is included at some camps from seven nights and billed elsewhere at around 20 € each way. Get it in writing before booking: it is the first line people forget.
The board stays at home. The hold supplement almost always beats hiring on the spot, and a softboard by the week is the right tool until you have decided what you ride.
The run
| Day | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Arrive, look around | Watch Anchor Point from the road |
| 2 – 3 | Banana Beach, low tide | Sand, to find your feet |
| 4 | Imsouane | The only wave that works on every tide |
| 5 | Rest or a short session | The body takes four days in a row badly |
| 6 | Boilers, mid tide | The step up |
| 7 | Anchor Point, mid tide | If days 4 and 6 went well |
Two things explain that order. The tide first: Anchor Point and Boilers only work at mid tide, so they cannot be strung together daily. Fatigue second: day 5 is not comfort, it is what makes day 6 possible.
If you take one line from this: the Imsouane day belongs mid-week, never at the end. It is the day that teaches the most, and it is wasted as a farewell.
What the week costs
Count 40 to 70 € a day on the ground, meals and extras included, plus the camp. The sheets published here run from 21 € a night at Surf Berbere to 95 € at Hashpoint: over seven nights the gap is less than a board in the hold.
The flight is the real variable. It decides the budget; the camp decides the week.
What derails the plan
- Too much swell. Everything slides towards sand and towards the south. A camp that names its fallback break has already thought about it.
- Wind that comes up early. Move sessions earlier, do not push them later.
- Wanting to do everything. Two sessions a day hold for three days out of seven without the habit, not more.
Frequently asked
Seven nights, really?
Yes, and it is the best money on the trip. Going from five to seven doubles the number of real surfing days.
Do I need a car?
No if the camp runs the transfers, which most do. Yes if you want Imsouane at your own pace rather than as a day trip.
What if I come in summer?
At 0.7 m of swell in July this run makes no sense: everything happens on the beach breaks. The seasons guide sets out the twelve months.
The breaks are documented from the Taghazout guide.
