Cambutal is forty minutes round the peninsula from Venao, a stretch of beach and reef breaking left and right on a south swell with a northerly offshore, and surfable at every stage of the tide.
January gives twenty-four clean days out of thirty, two blown out and three too small: the same dry-season wind, one notch below Venao's December.
Its real difference is space. It very rarely gets crowded, which is rare enough on a coast with figures like these to be the reason to make the drive. No hazard is named here, and that is worth reading precisely: it means nobody has recorded one, not that there is nothing. The bottom mixes sand with reef sections, so ask where to paddle out before you decide it is a beach.
