Molho Leste breaks off the harbour wall at the eastern end of the Supertubos beach, and it takes the same southwest swell with an east-north-easterly offshore. Mainly lefts, over sand.
It is the least consistent break on this coast: in January, one clean day out of thirty, two blown out, twenty-seven too small. Between them, this left and Supertubos explain why people spend a week in Peniche and surf Baleal.
When it does deliver, the line-up belongs to the people who have been waiting weeks for it. On a wave this rare that is the rule everywhere, and here it is applied plainly. A session is earned by turning up quietly and letting sets go.
