Punta Sayulita is the left at the north end of the bay, over a mix of sand and reef, on a west-south-westerly swell with an easterly offshore. It is very consistent, which on this coast is the point of it.
October gives nineteen clean days out of thirty and eleven blown out, with almost nothing lost to a lack of swell. San Pancho, ten minutes north, returns exactly the same three numbers, which tells you the figure belongs to the stretch of coast rather than to either wave.
Submerged rocks are the named hazard, and they are the reason this is the point rather than the beach: the wave is mellow and the entry is not. The beach in front of the town is where a first lesson happens, and it is not this.
