San Pancho is a left reef ten minutes up the coast from Sayulita, taking the same west-south-westerly swell with the same easterly offshore, and it sits in a village that has stayed a good deal quieter than its neighbour.
Its October figure is identical to Punta Sayulita's, nineteen clean days out of thirty, for the ordinary reason that the two are close enough to share one cell of the forecast grid. It says nothing about which of them is the better wave on a given morning.
Rips, rocks and sharks are all named, and the bottom is reef, which puts this above a first week whatever the difficulty rating says. What it offers over the point is space: the same swell, fewer people, and a village that is easier to be in at the end of the day.
