Check availabilityHelen and Liam are mother and son, and they came here from the Gold Coast. Their house is a hundred-year-old colonial villa, restored, between the ocean and the jungle: a courtyard where the tuk-tuk parks, a living room built round one long shared table, a pool in the garden. The beds have mosquito nets, and you sleep in a shared twin, a private room or a studio.
This is the house in the village where your body gets as much attention as the wave. Five coached surf sessions, every one filmed and followed by a video review, with boards and transport included. Alongside them, five yoga classes in a shala open to the jungle, one massage on the house at its Soul Spa, and a discount on any treatment after that. The stay is six nights, Sunday to Saturday.
The house does not publish where it surfs or how far the beach is. Ahangama's wave is The Rock, a reef off Kabalana that wants you standing already, so if you are starting out, ask where lessons happen before you book.
Breakfast is a buffet every morning, and on four of the six nights dinner is cooked in the house, Sri Lankan and Western dishes side by side. The other two nights you are in the village this coast goes out in. Prices are in US dollars and drop per head when two of you book together. Come here to go home rested as well as surfing better.

What is within reach of the camp.
Six nights Sunday to Saturday, a breakfast buffet every morning, four dinners, five coached and filmed surf sessions each followed by a video review, boards, kit and transport, five yoga classes, one massage and a discount at the spa.
The rate for two applies when two people book together: US$1,150 each in a private room instead of 1,350, and 1,250 in the studio instead of 1,550. On your own, a twin shared with another guest stays cheapest at US$1,150.
The house does not say, nor how far the villa is from the beach. Ahangama's wave, The Rock, is a reef for people already on their feet, and beginners learn on sand. Ask before you book, and ask about the transfer from Colombo at the same time.
