PURE Surfcamps: Boutique Surf Camp Morocco

The camp

PURE is not a surf camp in the sense the rest of this village uses the word. It is a hotel with half board, and the surfing is bought separately. Knowing that before you compare prices is the whole point of this sheet.

The room is the product. A double is €709 a week per person off-season and €909 over the holidays, and that includes an à la carte breakfast and dinner. Above it there is a sea view at €769, a premium sea view at €789, a suite at €989 and a royal suite with its own pool at €1,169, all per person per week and all with private bathrooms. Two family rooms, each a pair of connected doubles with two bathrooms, start at €2,129 for the week.

The surfing is a line item. A four-day beginner course is €249 and five days €289; the intermediate versions are €299 and €339. Guiding is €289 for four days and needs four people to run. None of it includes equipment: a performance board is €20 a day, a softboard €15 and a wetsuit €8. The airport shuttle from Agadir is €35 return.

Add the cheapest week to a five-day beginner course and equipment and you are at roughly €1,100 a person before flights, which is above every other published week in Tamraght. What you get for it is a pool under palm trees, a private bathroom with air conditioning, and a room somebody cleans. Whether that is the trade you want is the decision, and it is a real one for a couple where only one person surfs.
