Surfing in Tamraght
Tamraght is the village still doing its own work, between Aourir and Taghazout. Banana groves outnumber surf shops, fishing and farming still support part of the population, and the terraces look at the valley as much as at the ocean.

What put it on the surf map is one wave: Banana Point, a long forgiving right that peels gently and is among the best learning waves on the whole coast. Devil's Rock, at the northern edge of the village, completes it with a sand bottom to start on and a more demanding peak further out.

Why Tamraght?
The alternative that is not a fallback
Few people choose Tamraght by default and most of them come back. It offers the same coast as Taghazout, a better learning wave than any of Taghazout's, prices a good third lower, and a village life that has not been rearranged around visitors.
What it does not give you is intensity: few bars, few people, and the big days happen somewhere else.
Where is Tamraght?
Getting there
Tamraght sits on the coast road, five kilometres south of Taghazout and twenty-five minutes from Agadir airport. It is the closest of the three villages to the airport, which you notice on the day you arrive and again on the day you leave.
Everything inside the village is walkable, and Taghazout's point breaks are ten minutes away by car. You sleep in the quiet village and surf, if you want to, on the busy one's swell.
How this place rates
Tamraght at a glance
What carries Tamraght's rating is access: 4.5 for beginners and 4.6 for budget, the best of the three villages in the bay. A guesthouse room runs about 200 to 350 dirhams a night against 300 to 500 in Taghazout, and a full lunch about 40 to 60 dirhams against 70 to 90.
Against that, its rating for experienced surfers is the lowest in the bay at 3.8: Tamraght has no world-class point of its own, and the big days are surfed ten minutes to the north. Crowds and nightlife both stay low, which here is a choice rather than a shortfall.
