Tofinho is the point at the southern end of the beach, a right over sand and rock, taking the same south-east swell and south-south-westerly offshore as the beach it adjoins.
Its April figure is identical to Praia Tofo's, eleven clean days out of thirty, and it should be: the two are four hundred metres apart and read one cell of the forecast grid. What is not identical is the wave. This one is filed fairly consistent where the beach is inconsistent, and a good deal harder.
It very rarely gets crowded, which for the best wave in a country is worth stopping on. That is a fact about how far away Mozambique is rather than about the wave.
Sharks and rocks are named, and the rock here is under the wave and not at the edge of it, which is what puts this above a first week.
