Main Point breaks over reef at the eastern end of Weligama bay, a few hundred metres from the beach where everybody learns. It is the only step up available without changing village, and most people take it after five or six days.
A clean right, with a defined take-off and a wall that holds: nothing like the soft left next door, on the same bay and the same swell.
It fills as soon as it works, mostly with intermediates coming across from the beach, which makes the line-up more forgiving than most. Rock underneath: the step is short in metres and long in consequences.
