The camp
Surf Maroc has been running three oceanfront houses in Taghazout since 2003, and they are not interchangeable. Amouage and Taghazout Villa take surf weeks, Villa Mandala is the yoga retreat and takes adults only, and Taghazout Villa also runs women's weeks.
It is the only camp on this coast that publishes a full ladder, levels one to five: one to four coached in groups, five in private sessions. That matters because it means a strong surfer and a first-timer can book the same week without either being in the wrong room. A ratio of one instructor to six on average, eight surfers maximum per van, and a driver who takes the group to whichever break is working that morning rather than to a fixed beach.
Breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner, daily rooftop yoga, board and wetsuit for the stay, airport transfer free from seven nights.
Two limits: the minimum is four nights, so a weekend does not work, and on a guided week the board is hired separately rather than included.

Frequently asked questions
What is included in a week?
Accommodation, breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner, daily transport to the spots, and the Agadir airport transfer on stays of seven nights or more. Board and wetsuit are included on the coaching weeks and hired separately on the guiding ones.
What levels do the lessons cover?
Levels 1 to 4 run in groups, from never having surfed to an intermediate refresher. Level 5, the manoeuvre work, is private booking only. The legal ratio in Morocco is twelve surfers per coach; Surf Maroc says it runs six.
How long is a session?
Two hours every morning, usually from 9:30, and nothing on arrival day. The coach moves the time when the conditions ask for it, and no more than eight surfers travel in a van.
Which of the three houses do I stay in?
Amouage is the oceanfront hotel, twenty-six rooms with an infinity pool and a spa. Taghazout Villa is the beachfront guesthouse, fourteen bedrooms including the dorm. Villa Mandala is the yoga retreat, nine bedrooms, adults only from fifteen. The yoga retreat runs at Villa Mandala only, and the women's week at Taghazout Villa.
What is the minimum stay, and are there discounts?
Four nights, and seven over New Year. Ten nights or more takes 10 % off, and booking four months ahead takes 5 %.
