June is the first summer month and the first where the wind sets the timetable instead of the ocean. Land heats faster than sea, and the difference pulls a breeze onshore from the middle of the day. Mornings are glassy, afternoons are gone, and the wind drops again around seven.
The swell drops with the season. June averages waves a beginner can stand up in and an experienced surfer will find polite, and that is the trade the month makes: small, warm and dependable instead of big and rare.
The water is at 20°C and the light lasts past ten in the evening. Two sessions, dawn and dusk, with the whole middle of the day free for everything else a week here is for.
