April holds March's pattern for most of its four weeks. The lows are getting less frequent as they track north, so the swell is more intermittent than in February, but it still arrives with size and it still arrives into clean mornings.
The change comes at the end. The nortada starts filling in around the turn of April and May, first as an afternoon breeze on the west coast, and from then until late September the day has a deadline. The water has begun climbing and sits at 15°C. Nothing is crowded yet: the Easter fortnight aside, this is the last quiet month before the season.
