February is January with more size. Four or five February days out of thirty land in the six-and-a-half to ten foot range, which on an exposed Atlantic coast means a lot of it is closing out and the sheltered corners are what the week is spent looking for.
The water is at 14°C, the year's low. Upwelling keeps this coast colder than its latitude suggests, so a 4/3 with boots and a hood on the bad days, and the air is not much warmer. The compensation is the same as January's: everything is empty, and the good day, when it comes, has nobody on it.
