Where to surf in February

Every country whose season we have recorded, ranked for February, with the water you would be getting in.

February repeats January with fewer people on it. The Canaries, Morocco and Sri Lanka are still the three peaks, and the Canaries gain the most: the same swell as January, empty car parks. It is also the coldest the Atlantic gets, 17° in Morocco and 18° in the Canaries, against 28° on the Sri Lankan south coast.

Sorted by the coasts at their peak in February, then by verdict.

Verdicts are read from published surf guides and signed by us. Temperatures are monthly means published for one named break per country, not an average of a coastline. Swell height is left out on purpose: no source publishes it month by month for all of these coasts, and a figure measured one way here and modelled another way there would not compare.
