March closes the dry season. Everything that has been true since November is still true: north-west swell in the two-to-five-foot range, offshore wind almost daily, and clear skies. The heat builds through the month and March is usually the hottest of the year on land.
What makes it worth its own page is what happens at the end of it. April is the turning point, when the dominant swell direction shifts from the unhelpful north-east round to the south and south-west that this coast is shaped for. Late March sometimes gets the first of that, and nobody is there yet. The water is at 25°C.
