November is when Senegal becomes the country it is known for. The North Atlantic is producing consistently, the north shore of the peninsula takes it, and Ngor Rights and Ngor Lefts run the way the photographs promise.
The dry season starts, which matters more than it sounds: the afternoon storms stop, the humidity drops, and the north-easterly settles in off the land.
The water is on its way down from the September high but has not gone far. For most of the month a shorty is enough, and that combination, real swell on water you can still stand, is what makes November and October the two months worth planning around.
