July is the month to look at squarely. The swell is on the floor, 0.7 m at 8 seconds, exactly as in June. But crowds and prices jump from low to high, because Moroccan and European school holidays overlap here.

That combination happens only once in the year: the conditions of the flattest month with the pricing of the busiest. No other month charges as much for as little wave.

The rest is pleasant and does not make up for it: 0.2 mm of rain, the driest month on the calendar, air at 27 °C, water at 20 °C, 8.2 hours of sun. If surfing is not the reason for the trip, July is a fine month by the water. If surfing is the reason, May offers the same wave for half the price.

Learning in July

For learning : Good

A beginner can absolutely learn in July, and plenty do: Banana Beach and Devil's Rock are gentle, the water is 20 °C, the schools are running at full tilt. Two honest reservations. Groups are at their largest of the year, so the ratio per instructor gets worse. And the same week in May costs less, with the same wave and an empty beach. July is a month you take when the dates are imposed, not when they are free.

For an experienced surfer

Surf : Off season

There is no session here for an experienced surfer in July, and saying so beats implying it. The points do not work at 0.7 m. Imsouane bay stays surfable, on a longboard, and that is the only defensible recommendation of the month.
