May is when Morocco stops being a swell destination and becomes a learning one. Height drops to 1.0 m and, more to the point, the period falls from 11 to 8 seconds: that is no longer groundswell, it is local windswell. The same height does not make the same wave, and May is where that shows most clearly in the data.
Everything else is at its best. 9.6 hours of sun a day, the annual maximum. One rainy day, 5.6 mm. Air at 24 °C, and water finally back above 18, at 19 °C. Crowds and prices both fall to low, which happens in only two months of the year.
It is the cheapest good week on this coast.
